Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Oyogo ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you contact us or use this website. We are the data controller for the information described below.

Who we are

Oyogo is a wellbeing travel consultancy and media platform. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at studio@oyogo.co.uk.

What we collect

We collect the information you choose to give us, plus limited analytics if you consent to it:

• Enquiry details – when you email us or use a contact link, we receive your name, email address, and anything you include in your message.
• Newsletter sign-ups – when you subscribe to The Oyogo Edit, your subscription is created by Substack, and separately Oyogo stores your email address so we can send occasional updates about the Oyogo platform. If you answer the optional question shown after you subscribe, we store your answer too.
• Analytics data – if you accept cookies, Google Analytics records which pages you view, roughly where you are (city level), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We do not use it to identify you personally.
• We do not ask for, or require, any special categories of data.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how this site is used. It sets cookies in your browser, and it loads only if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Choose Reject and no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google.

Your browser may also store a small amount of information for us directly:

• Your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every visit. This is stored whichever option you pick, and is necessary for the banner to work.
• If, and only if, you subscribe – a random identifier and a note of the link you arrived from. These let us see which of our channels brought you, and recognise you later if you create an Oyogo account. Neither is stored before you press subscribe.

We do not set advertising cookies and we do not share data with advertising networks. To change your mind about analytics, clear this site's stored data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and discuss working together.
• To provide the services or information you have requested.
• To send The Oyogo Edit and occasional updates about the Oyogo platform, where you have subscribed.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it, where you have accepted analytics.
• To keep records of our correspondence.

Our lawful basis for enquiries and business records is legitimate interest – responding to you and running our business – and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. For analytics cookies and for marketing emails our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or by clearing this site's stored data.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks. We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements:

• Substack – delivers The Oyogo Edit and holds your newsletter subscription.
• Supabase – hosts the database where enquiries and sign-ups are stored (London region).
• Google Analytics – site measurement, only if you accept cookies.
• Netlify – hosts and serves this website.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your request and for our legitimate business records, after which it is deleted. Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete the record. Analytics data is held by Google for the retention period set in our Google Analytics configuration.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email studio@oyogo.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

International transfers

Some of our providers – including Substack and Google – process data outside the UK/EEA, principally in the United States. Where they do, transfers are made under the safeguards those providers offer, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK–US Data Bridge.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
